Thousands of people marched in Mexico City yesterday to mark the second anniversary of the disappearance of the 43 student teachers of the Escuela Normal Rural Raúl Isidro Burgos on September 26, 2014. Signs carried in the march, the chants, and the speeches at the conclusion of the day in the Zócalo emphasized that the forced disappearance of the 43 student teachers in Guerrero should be understood as part of a much wider political process, as discussed by Laura Carlsen here.
