Wyoming Latina Youth Conference, October 14-15, 2016

wlyc16-poster-r1I have been working for the past several weeks as part of a planning committee for the Wyoming Latina Youth Conference, which is happening this weekend in Laramie. This is the first year it is being hosted at the University of Wyoming. The conference is a science and creativity outreach initiative for young Latinas (girls, grades 5-12, from across Wyoming). At the center of the weekend’s activities is a bilingual day of workshops (on visual art, law, performance, biodiversity, mindfulness, the relay between art and science, etc.) on Saturday, October 15. The WLYC is a unique convergence in the Rocky Mountain region.

I will unfortunately miss the event itself because I am currently in Columbus, Ohio for a weekend of work towards the Breaking Consent project with the Ohio Student Association.
